December 3, 2025

On the occasion of the International Day of People with DisAbilities, our entity, together with others, organized a day of awareness and participatory activities in the iconic Plaza de la Virreina in the Gracia neighborhood. The main objective of the meeting was to make visible the reality of people with Disabilities, break down barriers and promote a more just and equitable society from grassroots education.

The Heart of the Activity: Schools

During the morning, we received a visit from students and teachers from several schools around Gracia, who have been actively involved in the proposed workshops. This participation has been essential, since it is the youngest who will build the future of our community.

We used a dynamic and interactive format, where through games and simple materials (such as banners that carried clear and direct messages), a dialogue was opened on concepts such as functional diversity, the need for universal accessibility and the richness that difference brings to collective life.

Clear and Direct Messages

The photographs of the day, despite being only a small brushstroke, capture the force behind these messages: the need to focus on the capabilities of each person and not on the limitations.

The banners, simple but powerful, served as a common thread to convey fundamental values of respect and acceptance.

We want to express our most sincere gratitude to all the school management, the teachers and, above all, the students who participated with so much enthusiasm. Thanks to your collaboration, we have made Plaza de la Virreina a true meeting point for inclusion.

The work continues to make Gracia, and all of Barcelona, a neighborhood where inclusion is the norm, not the exception.
