Dr. Blasi in La Contra de La Vanguardia

This November 26, 2025, the trajectory and legacy of ARAPDIS have received well-deserved media recognition. Dr. Blasi, founder and soul of our entity, has been the guest of honor to the prestigious La Contra section of La Vanguardia, offering a deep reflection on the evolution of Mental Health care in our society.
From Clinical Center to Community Rehabilitation
The interview not only serves to review the more than 36 years of ARAPDIS history, but also focuses on Dr. Blasi’s founding vision: the need to change the focus of psychiatric care.
Dr. Blasi, with his pioneering experience, has always defended a model that goes beyond clinical containment. As explained in the interview, the creation of ARAPDIS was born from the conviction that true recovery is achieved with psychosocial rehabilitation and effective integration into the community. Our Community Rehabilitation Service (SRC), the Social Club and the homes are the materialization of this philosophy.
The Importance of Destigmatization
One of the central points of the conversation with La Contra is the eternal challenge of destigmatization. Dr. Blasi highlights how, despite medical and social advances, there are still significant barriers that limit the lives of people with mental disorders.
ARAPDIS‘s task, therefore, is twofold:
1. Offer therapeutic resources based on dignity and autonomy.
2. Act as an engine of social change to break prejudices and promote an inclusive society.
His message is clear: we must continue to make Mental Health visible and accessible without fear.
A Recognition of Collective Work
For the entire ARAPDIS team – users, professionals, volunteers and partners – this visibility to a reference media is not only a recognition of Dr. Blasi as a person, but also of the collective effort that has remained alive for decades.
We invite you to read the entire interview with La Contra from La Vanguardia, essential reading to understand the history and future of psychosocial care in Catalonia.
